prime time Boredom Busters

Community

No matter what your interest are, there are some things you will need to do to complete any project you may begin. It is vitally important that every person have access to appropriate assistive technology, transportation (including door-through-door when an escort is required), and for some home staff, eg. assistants and/or attendants. There are many funding, aid and volunteer programs out there. We are working on a resource for the Dystonia community, but if you would like to signal one to us please contact us.

  •  Participate in your local support group, volunteer to help, or start a group if there isn't one
  • Often Barnes and Noble and other book stores have many community activities, including book clubs... alternatively, you could start one on your block
  •  Take a CEU class at your local community college
  • Get involved in activites or create activities within your preferred religious communities
  • Many dojos, where tai chi and other martial arts are taught, often meet on a weekly basis for meditation and teaching. It is usually free to attend.
