Projects

No matter what your interest are, there are some things you will need to do to complete any project you may begin. It is vitally important that every person have access to appropriate assistive technology, transportation (including door-through-door when an escort is required), and for some home staff, eg. assistants and/or attendants. There are many funding, aid and volunteer programs out there. We are working on a resource for the Dystonia community, but if you would like to signal one to us please contact us.

  • Learn to read and write a foreign language. (byki.com is a great source for free materials.)
  • Create an old-fashioned radio play by using different voices or inviting your friends/family.
  • Foster and teach basic obedience and socialization to service dog pups.
  • Rearrange the furniture. This is a good time to make use of your staff. If you don't have help at home
  • Do some research with the help of your local Independent Living Resource center and work on your life/care plan
  • Volunteer with a local non-profit. Choose a cause that interests you and do what you can without over committing yourself.
  • Learn to play an instrument
  • Use oven-bake clay to create models or artistic sculptures
  • Get involved in community theater, dance, or art clubs
  • Become a disability rights activist, a patient or student advocate
  • Create videos for youtube
